Poll result: how old are pharmacy computers? : 12/02/2010 :

This week's poll looked at how old the computers are in your pharmacies.

The result tells us that the 'average' seems to be about 4 years old with about 2/3 of computers in our respondents pharmacies coming in at that age or less. Unless they're filled up with unnecessary 'clutter' 4 year old PCs will generally run the software your average pharmacy needs in most cases. Computers don't age quite as fast as they did 5-10 years ago.

Based on independent modelling by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the report finds that, while the PBS reforms will provide more savings than originally estimated, these will be more than outweighed by higher growth in PBS costs. Growth in 2009-10 is expected to reach about 10.6 per cent.
