Crackerjack editorial to run Monday : 15/12/2006 :

Watch this space on Monday when AusPharm will publish an absolute cracker of an editorial from Irwin the evil chemist, provoked by Choice's most recent attack on pharmacy.

"The problem is that perception equals reality, and the forces rallied against us have been building the untrue, inaccurate, illogical and invalid perception for some decades now that pharmacists are vicious bastards for daring to be paid for goods & services rendered, thus rorting all and sundry.

The fight must therefore not be on logical, truthful, valid, reasonable grounds......"

AusPharm poll: privacy in pharmacies : 13/12/2006 :

In yesterday's AusPharm feature Irwin the evil chemist suggested that the 'whole privacy thing' has been somewhat overdone as concerns pharmacies, suggesting with tongue firmly in cheek that pharmacies should perhaps have "a separate entrance and egress so that the privacy of customers entering is not compromised with those exiting".

What do you think? Has the issue of patient privacy in pharmacies been overdone? Please tell us what you think by voting in today's poll below.

Pharmacy and complementary medicines : 29/11/2006 :

The awarding of this year's Bent Spoon Award to Australian pharmacy should serve to get pharmacists thinking once again about whether their pharmacies should be stocking the array of unproven complementary medicines (CAMs) that most of them do. While there is an evidence base to many CAMs, many more of the CAM products on our shelves lack a solid evidence base to support their use. What do you think? Please let us know in today's AusPharm poll. Post a comment to AusPharmList.
