Oral contraceptive to be Schedule 3? : 17/11/2014 :

A proposal to create new entries in Schedule 3 for all oral contraceptives is to be considered by the Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling (ACMS) at its March 2015 meeting.

The proposal would require those seeking the medications to complete a 'minor questionnaire' for the pharmacist regarding family history of heart problems, hypertension and stroke. An in-pharmacy blood pressure test/results from another recent blood pressure test to ensure suitability for medication would also be required. A limit of 3-6 months' supply in one transaction is proposed.

Also on the agenda is a proposal to make some ranitidine products open sellers.

Federated Pharmaceutical Service Guild of Australia : 14/11/2014 :

From a ‘lister who wishes to remain anonymous...

This is a car badge I bought from the NSW branch of the Guild, after I was registered in 1961. I can't remember how much it cost me, but I was told that it was the last one that they had & I could have it a reduced price, as there were a few scratches on it. I am a Ph.C. and am still registered as a pharmacist, working 1 or 2 days a week as a casual.
