Poll: is a Pharmacy General Assembly a good idea? : 10/09/2014 :

In an open letter to the profession last Thursday, Australian College of Pharmacy President, Patrick Reid, called for a consolidation of minor pharmacy conferences into a 'Pharmacy General Assembly' to be held in September each year.

Mr Reid cited as his reasons that 'the initiative would result in better quality conference content that would deliver a return on investment for attendees and sponsors'.

The idea has received some support from other pharmacy organisations but there have also been criticisms - largely due to the resulting reduction in conference attendance options for pharmacists, in particular those in rural locations who may not have the staffing flexibility to get away at the time the General Assembly is on.

What do you think of the idea of a Pharmacy General Assembly? Please let us know by voting in this week's AusPharm poll.
