Fancy yourself as a photographer? AusPharm regularly publishes photographs submitted by our members and would love to have a look at what you have to offer. Ideally, photos should have a pharmacy aspect to them but this is not mandatory. To submit a photo for consideration please email Mark Dunn.

Sydney :: Howard Teague : 10/01/2014 :

You don't have to climb the bridge to get a good picture of Sydney.

This was taken from the viewing platform on the South Pylon.

Outside Boulder Pharmacy on a Sunday morning :: Bernard Anton : 20/12/2013 :

I did a three week locum a while back at Boulder pharmacy, 5 kms from Kalgoorlie. Both towns were, at the time, abuzz with 3.5% unemployment thanks to the resources boom.

This pharmacy also incorporates a pharmacy museum (another photo for another day) and is one of the "must sees" in this genuine gold-rush historic town of late nineteenth century.

I found a group of our indigenous "bros" (God bless 'em) gathered outside the pharmacy one Sunday morning and they have become warmly famous around the world (in my little group). Sadly, the children were too shy to be photographed.

Spanish pharmacy :: Peter Ryan : 13/12/2013 :

I had the privilege of being invited in to look at this lovely pharmacy in Logrono, Spain when walking parts of the Camino de Santiago recently.

Eskies again :: Andrew (Robbo) Roberts : 06/12/2013 :

Some time ago Peter Crothers put up a picture of his FREE “fishing eskies”.

Out here eskies start to run short from our suppliers (delivering to large numbers of remote health centres) so the health service run about 12 hard cased eskies and freezer blocks from our office and to our suppliers. We also send back into town any foam esky in a usable condition.

Front of shop opportunity :: Lucy Egerton : 29/11/2013 :

Times are tough and with all the government cut-backs we are constantly reminded that we need to focus and expand on our front of shop sales.

This photo was taken in Bangla Road, Patong, Thailand (red light district) where they have done just that.

I'm not sure if the mens under-garments they are selling at the front of their pharmacy would be well received in Australian pharmacies, but they seem to be a good seller over there!

The Green Doctor :: Michael Anderson : 22/11/2013 :

Just back from the USA visiting relatives and had a chance to visit Venice Beach in LA where I saw how medical centres solicit for business by offering prescriptions for legal marijuana.

I then went to a Farmacy that dispenses the product.

Friendly Beaches, Freycinet Peninsula :: Angus Thompson : 15/11/2013 :

Whilst Wineglass Bay may be what draws most visitors to the Freycinet National Park on Tasmania's East coast, the Friendly Beaches area a little further north features some stunning vistas of unspoilt beaches, ocean and the orange lichen clad rocks so typical of the area.

Bogan Lolly Shop :: Peter Bayly : 08/11/2013 :

This is Nyngan in outback NSW, between Coonabarabran and Cobar.

The Bogan Lolly Shop (we were in Bogan Shire) has replaced the original pharmacy and claims "money can't buy happiness but can buy lollies which bring happiness".

However, I suspect that in 1868 one could buy happiness in that building in the form of opium and other uncontrolled drugs.

Vietnamese pharmacy :: Kay Dunkley : 01/11/2013 :

This was taken during a family holiday to Vietnam.

I don’t think this pharmacy would meet security or temperature control requirements in Australia or even withstand a strong wind!

View from my office :: Christine Wise : 31/10/2013 :

I took this photo on the Sunshine Coast a couple months ago .... sitting on a patient’s verandah for an HMR.

Easy to be distracted!

The view is of the Glasshouse Mountains from the Bald Knob area.
